NBA Calls Govt to Lift Curfew

Kathmandu, April 10-Nepal Bar Association on Sunday called the government to immediately lift curfew orders. Issuing a press statement the lawyers body called the government to immediately free political leaders, cadres and rights activists who were detained for participating in an agitation.

General secretary of the NBA, Madhav Banskota, also made it clear that the lawyers body could not hold its scheduled rally because of the curfew today but said the NBA district branches across the country held pro-democracy rallies.

The NBA also flayed the government for not providing curfew passes to the media. "This is against the right to freedom of speech and expression and the NBA condemns the government's action," the statement said.
